Achilles' Heel.

Have you ever seen 'Troy'? Starring Brad Pitt? See: picture below to refresh your memory. Anyway, I have seen it, several times over. There are many memorable parts, but one that is strikingly memorable is the scene where Achilles goes to fight Boagrius, and a young messenger boy forewarns him as to the man's size. Achilles proceeds to LEAN on the poor kid, but it was very eloquently put. Need a reminder? Here you go:

Messenger boy: The Thesselonian you're fighting... he's the biggest man I've ever seen. I wouldn't want to fight him.
Achilles: And that is why no-one will remember your name.

I say that to say, as an artist, as a person, the only way to attain "immortality" is to live on through other peoples' memories. Through stories passed from generation to generation. As selfish as that may seem, that's one of the few things that I truly want. This is part of why I enjoy making music. Because it transcends the barriers that time puts on our life span.
